GVWR + Payload Calculator

What's up guys,

Brenan here, from Trail4Runner.com. After years of modding trucks, one thing you start to realize is that the weight adds up quickly. My buddy Max, @MTN4RNR here on T4R built a Google sheet to track GVWR and Max Payload so I thought we would turn it into a functioning web app.

We're working on a backend login right now that will allow you to login, save your data, add multiple builds, edit the weight on those builds, and then save/export the data to a PDF or Google sheet.

The app contains default information (GVWR, Curb Weight, and Max Payload) for all 5th Gen 4Runner, and 3rd Gen Tacoma models/sub-models currently. Just hit the dropdowns and select your model. It will populate the specs for your specific model/sub-model and trim options. We're working on curating the data for all generations of Toyota; 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, GX, LC, Etc.

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve it, let me know. I am open to ideas.

Thanks for making this! It's something that I think most owners don't think about, and it's a shame.

What would be really cool is if you had a database of weights for all the common items in the marketplace so you could select them by brand instead of looking up the weights yourself. That would be a lot of work, but would make it much easier for users.

I've done something similar for my own 4R. As I buy and add new parts, I keep a spreadsheet for the weights added (and subtracted) to my rig. It's amazing how quickly this adds up and you can easily go overweight.

One question I've had is, how to increase the GVWR? AIUI, this is a function of frame strength and suspension component capabilities. I'm curious if there's a way to calculate how much I can increase the GVWR if I add xyz components?
