so went to my aunts house because she said i could grab the tilt trim gauge from a 86 4Runner. thought that was great. we got to talking and they gave it to be because they decided not to fix them anymore. so we got to talking more and they said they were just going to junk them so i asked to work them over when they were done before they junked them. then they offered them to me for free if i took both of them. figure i might as well talk them just because. and by birthday is next moday so i guess early present to me. 86 runner and 87 toyota PU

im not real sure yet. im thinking the 4runner is a bust because it has the pink milkshake... so that sucks. but they parts from the runner will go on the PU and i think the PU runs decent. both 4 wheel, F&B axles, the runner is auto and PU stick. im trying to find a place to work on them and have found 3 guys to help and one would take the runner after. next couple of days will see what happens. it all came up really fast haha

hey if you decide you want different wheels on them, i might be interested in the wheels on the pickup, i have a set of them on mine, but have been looking for matching spares for over 3 years now and still nothing... id be up for buying all 4 if the price was right...

sadly i dont know... forgot to ask... but it doesnt matter that much if its just a play truck. it would be nice to have a good crawling truck or something but that probably wont happen soon.

That sounds like an ideal project! I would build the truck myself... it's always nice to have something you can load up furniture and stuff into. Rhino line the cab, move the tube bumper over, the list goes on.

well bummer that sucks, oh well. to be honest we arent real 100% on the year of them. didnt look into it at the moment. but i dont think it was that low of a year.
i did see what looked like strut towers and that made me think it didnt but i thought i saw something, will look into it more.

haha well, i know for a fact it's at least an '86 cus the grille on yours is split in two sections versus 3 on the 84 and 85.

actually that split didnt happen untill 1987... 84-86 had the 3 section grilles, and 87-89 had the two section... so its either had the grille replaced or its an 87+

hmm, tomato..tomoto

guess I was off a year. I knew it sounded a little off.

either way, it having a 2 split grille means it's a '87-'89 leaving it with no chance for a sfa unless it did have a swapped grille which i doubt happened given the nature of the truck in the picture lol. Sucks you're letting it go. I would love to have a 1st gen 4runner. I would have been all over it!!
