Has anyone here built half doors for their 4runner??

I found a full set of 4 doors for 120 and am going to hopefully pick them up on Monday. I have only been able to find very few pics of our 3rd gens with them. I'm trying to get a few more ideas of how low/profile of the cuts. Sooo if anyone of you guys have pics, post them up!!!

I will update this thread as I make progress on them

Nope. Never been done before.

Google my friend.

My truck is the 3rd one there.

But, since it didn't work for you, I'm assuming you mean something like these:

I was all over Google and the only 2 trucks I seen were what you posted up Doc2012 but they were blurry as all hell!! Thanks tho. I like how you kept the stock handles. How was welding the caps? What'd you use for a quick disconnect door?

The fun thing about half doors is you can make them any way you want. I don't really see the allure of doing FOUR half doors.....meh....

Start with the driver side. If you have mechanical everything, then it's a little easier. For power windows/door locks, you may have to build extensions to the wiring harnesses for easier connections. Also, are you going use quick pins for the door hinges? Then make sure to get the hinges with the donor doors.....

You're going have to see what the connector is like under the kick pannel.

I have the Limited, so power EVERYTHING. LUCKILY, i saved my wiring harness when I cut the doors up.

All I have to do is cut and cover the wires, and then I'm good for my speakers.

Unplug the full door, put the half door on, and plug it back in. The locks and everything should work just fine.

Awesome, good to know thanks!

I'd almost suggest some kind of quick pin connect kit that allows you to make your own pin out. Just make your factory and 1/2 doors plug and play.

Yeah I'll have to look at it when I take my doors off. Might be coming up on some front doors in the next couple weeks off a parts truck. I'll figure it out when I start hacking them up. The speaker issue just popped into my mind so I was wondering if there was an easy plug and play way. Thanks for the info.
