Hardwire GPS and install additional 12 cig plug?

I have an 07 4wd SR5 and noticed that it only has the one 12v plug in the center console. I want to install my Garmin GPS on the left near the drivers side A pillar and I was thinking about using something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Hardwi...9L20/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320196815&sr=8-1

To hardwire into the fuse block.

Any advice?

If that goes well I would also like to install another 12v plug into the storage compartment of the console. There is already a line in but no power. Not sure why but it looks like there is/was an option for there to be power there already (according to the owners manual).

Oh, and I love this. :girl:

Sounds like a great idea, actually (hardwiring the gps). I have never seen any of those kits before, but I would definitely do it if my gps wasn't so outdated, haha. I actually just hardwired a passport 9500 into my truck and it was significantly easier than I had expected. It took about 30minutes or so to get it done right and hide the wiring.
Definitely ad a circuit though and run it through the fuse box.

Something to consider. I recall seeing a post on here where someone hardwired their Garmin, and also installed the GPS inside of the sunvisor. Fold down when in use, fold up to hide it when it isn't. Very sweet install, and a good write-up.

Edit: found it, here you go.
