Harmonic Sound......

Started hearing, what sounds to me as a harmonic sound/tone, from outside the truck. When I accelerate I don't hear it. But when I get off the gas and I hear it again. It sounds like.....ready. Wirrrrrrr. Give gas gone. Off gas wirrrrrr.
I'm thinking it's the dunlops. It's slight. But I notice.
Maybe I should have someone in the car with window open to listen.
Oh, and that wooshing, sound from the brake pedal. Went to dealer said it was normal. Its the brake pedal rubber boot at the firewall being compressed- that sound right to you guys? Anyone hear this too?

sounds like drivetrain: front or rear, driveshaft or pinion.

I have that too, like a slight gear whine or hum.

I'm pretty sure it's the rear pinion gear whenever it's not under load (maybe 1eng can clarify "why" it does that?)

I have heard rear-ends make that noise before(but much louder) and that was the culprit. Never under load always when "reverse load" is applied- such as coasting with the converter locked.

For the responses.
That hissing sound is normal.
The harmonic tone....I guess antman is correct......but my trucks only has like 2500 miles on it.......I'm still kinda leaning towards the s**ty dunlops making that noise.

Mine has always made that noise. I noticed it the first week of ownership. My wife can't hear it and thinks I'm nuts.
I'm not worried about it though.

My TE has the similar harmonic sound but only when give gas, when gas off, no sound. It only happens around 70-75 mph. It sounds like those axle sound from those long axle moving truck.
