Has anyone made a cabin holster for their pistol?

In our state, we can conceal and carry. (Thank you 2nd amendment)
I prefer to travel with my pistol, it is a large frame .40 S&W.
I'm looking for ideas of where I can safely install it in some sort of holster or perhaps even my miniature pistol safe.

I prefer the holster type of storage so that it is easily accessible, but unseen when the door is opened...

Has anyone come up with an idea regarding this? Thank you in advance!

I put mine in the box next to the drivers seat. Velcor the holster to the side of the box, good to go and it's easily removable for pocket or shoulder holster.

I friend of mine used two-way tape on a Safariland mounting receiver on the inside of the console, so he can click whatever holster he's using into it. Blackhawk also makes a system like that.

Blackhawk has all kinds of cool mounting stuff. I was looking at it the other day, actually. I think the deals they have to quick release holsters from vests would work great. Take a look for sure.

Short drive: in the CCW holster on my belt.
Long drive: loose in the closed center console (I know, not the best)
If I have to leave it in the vehicle, then it goes in a hidden compartment.

If you want a removable "hard" mount in the center console, you can use the removable divider (or buy a spare one if you want to keep one "OEM") and use that to mount a holster or holster base to. that way the gun wont rattle around in there, but you also have no permanent "gun storage" marks on the vehicle (in case you ever want to sell it to a hippy tree-hugger). :AK47:

I have a CCP also, almost 20 years now, don't have any advice, as I keep mine close to me, on me, and it's usually the .45, I like the stopping power of it. But, I thought this funny as hell when I ran across it. This guy was stopped by cops, he is just begging for the cop to hear him, he's telling the cop, I have a concealed weapons permit, but the cop is too interested in interrogating the "John and prostitute," than, out of nowhere the cop realizes the guy has a permit, and the cop goes ballistic, threatens to shoot him 12 times in the head, go home, go to sleep, and never think about it, something to that. Check it out, it's serious, but funny. The cop screwed up VERY bad on this stop, it‘s all caught on his patrol car dash camera, but of course, it's the civilians fault.

Wanted one myself but I have to commute into the District of Criminals on the weekdays, and they don't take kindly to the lawful carrying of arms in their city.

I always put mine bettween the console and seat . Until, here in NY if it is loaded it has to be on your person even in vehicle . Just make sure you check your laws .

Jackpot! Thanks! The only issue there is my sons (ages 12 and 15) (even though they've had hunter's ed, and "daddy" training around handguns since age 6) might think I'm a bit off the deep end if they can see it. I think that set up may be quite visible from the drivers seat.

They relaxed it from, "there is no way in hell you can own a handgun" to the new policy of, "you can own one handgun if it is unloaded, in your house, disassembled, locked in a safe, AND you lost the key to said safe". (ok, so that's a slight exaggeration, but let's just say CCW is a LONG way from happening in our nation's capital.)

Also add you can buy one but there is 1(one) FFL in the city and he lost his lease.. Suffice it to say anyone carrying a gun in D.C. is either a Criminal, or is doing so under the Supreme law of the land (the Constitution) at great risk to themselves if caught by the Metro PD.
