Has anyone recently tried CV's sold by Napa?

I've had a few problems with leaks with the remanufactured. And always use OEM seals. But have had real good luck with their new axles. Been running for a couple of years without issue.

They're easy to change anyways so F_ck Toyota prices. I'll buy ten sets for the price of one and keep beating them up for fun.

this. I have the Napa HD boot axles and they replace them for free when the boots tear. it's easy to swap out, so just swap in the new one, return the old one, keep it until you need to swap again.

I'm lifted 3" and run 35s, wheel probably once a month or so, and I seem to tear a boot once a year on these.

I have about 4 years and 50k miles on the NAPA premium axles with the HD boots and have not had a problem so far. I am not a wheeler but I do have the adjustable Bilstiens with 1” lift on the front just due to the occasional minor flooding I have to deal with in my area.

As I recall I was able to order online with a pretty decent discount and have them delivered to the store. The price ended up being close to the junk that some of the other stores sell as axles…

Been doing some digging around since I don't want to spend $500 on an OEM Toyota Axle if I don't need to. Seems like my options are either OEM, CVJ, or Napa

Given the fact that Napa is the cheapest option :wof:, I did some digging around across multiple Toyota forums (T4R, TacomaWorld, FJCruiser forums to name a few) and it seems like they're a good alternative. However, most of the posts are 2+ year old with mixed data points, mostly good reviews with a few bad due to possible other variables (using the remans instead of new, longer than factory shocks but not LT, only used as a spare/temporarily)

From my findings, the NCV 944052 should have a standard boot, while the NCV 944082 have a heavy duty boot. But they are also supposed to have a $30 diff (currently $1 diff), and made by CARDONE (currently made by SurTrack PN: TO-8168)

Interested since I also need new CVs. But the 5th gen CVs are supposed to fit 4th gens even though the part number is different. They are 330 ish. Still expensive but not 500 through Toyota

Sorry for the late reply, but I ended up avoiding the Napa CV's because they changed distributors and the CV's are offered by Surtrack, which I really couldn't find much data points on. With that, I did some digging to find that the "good" CV's from Napa were the ones from Cardone, PN 665235 HD. I haven't done any hard wheeling yet, but they aren't binding at full droop.
