Has anyone replaced the license plate garnish due to sun damage or other reasons?

Just curious as these look beat to hell on 90% of the 3rd gens I see on the road and maybe Florida is worse due to the sun but I need to replace mine since the rubber seal has shrunk and broke off in 3 places with that being said does anyone have a part number handy as my local parts guy is a lazy bum and does not want to deal with anyone unless they order big $$ parts

I think he hates me because I am anal about how I keep my Toyotas and will fix any little problem even before it causes an issue and generally it's a low dollar part.

I've been looking into this as well. My still has shine to it but there are areas where the paint has worn off. It isn't too noticeable however. Toyota does not even give the paint code to it.

It looks like part number 7680135260. Looks to be around $170 but shipping will add more to that.

Wow 170 hurts! Maybe I will just wait and look for a good used one to recondition with a good rubber seal but may be hard to do here in Florida so I will look on ebay for one from up north which should be better shape.

Man $170?? Maybe you could just order the rubber gasket or find some universal rubber to run around the edge and repaint the one you have? Or check a local salvage.

From what I've read on here, that part is a real ***** to get to and replace. My seal is still in good shape, so I just taped it off and painted it.

I'm pretty sure $170 is for the entire plastic piece with the rubber gasket.

Looks like for just the rubber gasket it's around $6. Part no. 76825-35020 for the Protector, Back Door. Assuming that is what it is referring to. Couldn't find a detailed pic online but in the diagram above 76825 points to the little frame piece.

I just went to Home Depot and bough door weather stripping.
Worked great.

wait im confused what is the part # for just the rubber trim piece? I didnt know there was even supposed to be one there. but now I want to get one.
