Having trouble with my 2012 4runner trail cargo lights

I recently bought a 2012 trail 4runner, and the one thing that bugs the hell out of me are the rear cargo lights. I replaced all the lights with LED's, there's not one I left out. But what happens when I open my cargo door, especially at night. The rest of the lights in the car turn off, only leaving the two rear lights. I've tried everything from setting the switches in the cab. But it doesn't leave any option to stay on. The only way they stay on is if one of the car doors is ajar. Is there anything I can do? Reset a relay? Or just add more lights? I'd really like some advice cuz after camping for 2 weeks and hardily any light to get to anything sucks ass!

I think that's just how they are wired (rear-hatch only triggers the rear lights).

I have a similar Q: I'd like to get my Rear Cargo Lights to come on when I open a regular door. Anyone know if that's possible? Probably not

Don't think it is.

I might be installing some flush mount LEDs with a switch in the back that will light up the cargo area with the hatch open or closed. But that is down the road.
