the flats is fine..its just a preference about steepness....just means more gas used...i dont mind though. I think I found a place to store the box. Only thing is that I would have to meet up with someone before going to the flats...never been there before

The recon is only $15 good for 30 days. Its more of a pain, because they dont really tell you exactly what you need till you get there. The info on the government site it out of date. Then if you fail you have to scheduled another appointment. The wait list is about a week for each appointment.

Yeah, no worries, when ever you guys wanna go, Ill tag along on the next one.

Okay, so We need to get an actual set date and a head count. Location is pea c o c k flats, unless anyone has objections or suggestions. @awpsome, I don't know what the permit stuff is all about so if u could handle that it would be awesome. I'm down for feb 4th or 5th. Please pm me if you are going so I can get a head count.

if we decide peacock flats the date will have to be pushed back..
last time i checked you cant get a permit till 2 - 4 weeks prior of the date that you want.
ill try to check up on that but if we do decide to go it'll be a small fee for everyone. i think its like only $35 total anyway to get a pass for us all.
if anything kaena is always free.
but yea lets get a head count..

Just a heads up. Kaena has designated roads that you must stay on. Last I heard, DLNR was sighting anyone that didn't stick to the path. The path also got graded down flat, so not much of anything back there anymore.

ahh...I havent been up there since 07 so its probably changed alot, so now the only legal spot is the flats then?

Hey sorry I didnt post back.
I finally got my recon.
Happened to take a ride to the north shore today to check out the storm surf. Wiamea was clean but inconsistent, not that I can even paddle out in that madness. :surfer:
My g/f and I went to check out Kaena Point. The pic is at the end of the paved road. We went about a quarter mile before she told me to turn back before we "break something" :crybaby: Id say I was fairly rough, Im not used to that, we have nothing but sand in NJ. I cant wait to go back and go the rest of the way.
