Faster then an Antman!I know this is unlikely but, any chance at all that there might have been a mix up with the plugs behind the dash and you're actually trying to plug in the wrong one?
I noticed you said you are trying to repair break-in damages, so I was not sure to what extend you had to try and piece everything back to get her.
Oh and if you are going to try to de-pin and re-pin, a small paper clip with the tip cut to a point using some wire clippers comes in real handy for de-pinning it.

You are correct eddiebx in that he has the wrong connector that he is trying to connect. Good job!Case Closed!!
Just took mine apart. You have the wrong connector,it's a darker gray 4 pin connector and has a plastic side attachment to the stereo.....
