Have any of you added an HDMI port to one of your blank switches? If so, how so?

Curious, why? You have a 3rd party head-unit that supports hdmi or something?

You could part out an extender and use a blank to make one.

Yeah, I installed a new head-unit, and full set of speakers this week. The HU has an HDMI input, so it started me thinking.

If you get a good cable and connector that is already made, it could work. It's not like wiring LEDs to your roof. My experience with this stuff has been less than good. It takes some fancy equipment and the right materials to make an HDMI cable. The cables are impedance matched and the wires length matched to few thousands of an inch. Shielding is also critical

Keep in mind that it also depends on your source and sink. Some stuff is just garbage and meets the bare minimum requirements to call it HDMI.

Switchcraft is a known quantity and may work. You will need a good cable on the other side too. Disclaimer: I have not used this solution.
