Head gasket replacement parts recommendation

Hey guys,

I'm getting both head gaskets done at my local shop. It's a 2005 Sport V6.
They gave me a quote with non OEM head gaskets and I'd rather get Toyota parts since it is a big deal.
I was wondering if somebody would have a list of all the things they replaced on the engine with part numbers?
They apparently called Toyota and were told it would cost about $2000 for all the parts (timing chains, sprockets, guides, etc.)..

Thanks in advance!

I guess if you are paying someone, it doesn't hurt to replace it all. Personally, I wouldn't replace sprockets. I didn't even replace my chain, guides or tensioner assembly, which is oil actuated I believe. Everything looked new and was lined up perfectly with the timing marks.

I did do the valve stem seals which were all pretty gross at 160k.

It Would really depend..if your doing head gaskets cuz it was blown/ leaking then yes replace with Toyota gaskets.

Was there also a timing chain related issue or trouble codes that would prompt the mechanic to call for chain sprockets guides?

Did you ever get the parts list from anyone? I'm in the same boat and I need to start getting the parts together.
