Head gasket sealers - Do they work??

Has anyone had any luck using a head gasket sealer like Steel Seal. My 93 runner is blowing white smoke from tail pipe and engine, has white milky substance under oil cap and brown sludge in radiator.

Youre trying to fix a broken leg with a band-aid my friend. Steel Seal is for superficial leaks. If youre radiator is getting backwash it.. you need to change that HG asap. Sorry

yep, some times you have to fix the main problem! water in you oil needs to be fixed as well!

I agree, if you care about your 4Runner at all you should fix it right. That being said I had a buddy use that stuff in his dodge caravan and it held up for right around 10,000 miles.
