Headlight (HIDs) turns off when I drive bumpy roads.Turn them off/on and they turn on

Before anyone suggests a connection or ground, I've shaken all the wires, connections to recreate the road bumps but doesn't do anything. I'm also grounded to a clean battery terminal.

I'm suspicious it's something with the switch because I turned them off an on numerous times in a row and it didn't come back on a few times. Does this sound like something that would happen from a bad switch?

Possibly, are they connected to the factory light switch or an aftermarket switch??

I had this problem for a while, the plugs that attached the bulbs were the problem. Simply bend the prongs so they dont loose contact over bumps. If its not that its a connection somewhere else on the bulb side.

I'll give that a shot but my question about that fix is of that is the case, why won't the light go out when I shaking the hell out of all the wires/connections and even the bulb itself?

Bad relay perhaps? Not sure what your set up is but a friend of mine had a replay crap out on his STI and the symptoms were similar to yours.

Alright, tried this but wasn't the problem. I guess I can try the relay. Switch with another one or something before buying one. When I remember where I put my stock headlights I'll swap that in to see if I can rule out the HIDs them selves or swap the current lights side to side and see if the problem follows to the other side.

my problem was with d2s bulbs in a projector, the connector is actually better on the pnp kits, so id say its probably the relay or something.

I swapped my factory bulbs in and the problem didn't happen so at least I know it's the HIDs. My mazdaspeed uses the same bulbs so I'll swap one in and see if it's the bulb

Do you have the harness that plugs into he relay?

If so, it may have burnt out, my last harness was made like in that, went to the desert and it fried. Luckily not while I was night driving. But yea, if so you need to get a harness that isn't made like that
