Maybe in WA, but do not underestimate the asholicity potential of some NJ cops.

You've got to be driving 20 over the speed limit and swerving because you're too busy looking down at your phone before a Jersey cop pulls you over LOL. Have you seen all these cars and trucks driving around with very glary blue/purple/pink lights? I've yet to see a cop turn around or pull out to chase these people unless they're doing something else to get their attention. I wish they would pull them over though,it's very annoying.

Pretty much. A HID kit's low beam pattern is pretty much low and high together. So yes it does the job at the expense of annoying other drivers.

'HID Kits" the plug and play kind, are a very poor 'band-aid', they're also being cracked down upon here in Oregon, so do oncoming traffic a favor, and maybe your insurance rates too, and avoid the kits, you won't regret the right projector, I Guarantee it!

Luckily cops haven't given me any issues out here in Cali. Not yet at least. I do plan on doing the projectors eventually but due to the time and $$ it's takes to do it I went with plug In hid kit.I'm hoping soon I will do the mod tho. I do like the look and it'll be a good idea to not blind people driving in my direction. Ha ha

This sue is the biggest $itch I have about the 3rd Gen's. I mean really Toyota. The head lights are crap and they knew it. Coming out of an Acura TL to my 3rd Gen was fine but not having the driving lights at night are a real PITA. Looks like I will be putting this on my list of must haves for the build.

Your best LEGAL upgrade would be Philips Extreme Power bulbs with an upgraded harness.

Friend of mine that is now living in Tennessee, put HID's on his Eclipse 8 years ago. It was the first mod he did, he gets pulled over every once in a blue moon for his window tint but never for his headlights. They are better and safer, as long as your not blinding ppl and have them pointed right (goes for any headlight) then you are fine.

I hate the output of the OEM headlights. My Ford had better output, I've wanted to do the retrofit for sometime now. Even with 99+ headlights it's still shotty. I agree with Blue, I need to put this on my list of things I should do right under getting my engine fixed.
