Everything is reconnected now and so far everything seems to work. Horn, turn signals, and headlights all come on. No fuses get blown. One issue I see is that the drivers side headlight is dim and does not switch between high and low. The passenger headlight is fine and operates normally. Could it be just the bulb? Or something else? I still can’t figure out the cause of the whole thing. The battery was leaking in the area. The alternator isn’t over charging, I used 3 different testers(1 on car tester, and 2 separate bench testers) and all came around 14 volts. There was no hack job wiring beforehand. Might just be a perfect storm of age, leaking battery, and being unlucky.

That headlight could be the bulb, damage or corrosion in the socket, or a wiring issue. I'd also change the fuse for that side just for fun. Qucik test on bulb is swap with other side....first thing I'd do. Then swap the fuses. No joy, pull the socket and inspect closely. Test the ground and 12V+ hi and lo sources and see which is not doing its job. Go from there.
