Heater makes a gurgling noise.

Ever since I've owned this truck, I hear a gurgling noise from under the dash when I come up to speed from my drive way. I'm not losing any coolant and the engine runs as hot as it should. Heater works fine.
I'm not too worried but any idea what this is?
I finally remembered to ask about this.

I had the same problem, basically air in the system

Get the car on a steep angle, (so the rad is highest)
turn on all your heaters to max, (including the rear heater for the back seat)
wait until your car is up to operating temp.

Your coolant level will most likely drop about 1/4-1/2 liter maybe more.
Add coolant until it is full again, my air in the cooling system or noise gurgling sound has never come back since I did that.

That sounds so crazy it just might work. I can't wait to see my neighbors peering out their windows while I roll my runner up the side of my front ditch.

remove radiator cap

wait until your car is up to operating temp.

My recommendation is to ignore the problem, as it's common, and nothing more than a noise.

I like to think of it as less of a problem, and more of a way to know that the coolant is flowing.

i had the same problem. one of my heater hoses leaked very slightly and i think that caused some air bubbles to form in the heater core. i replaced the hose, and started the truck up and let it get to op temp. then let it cool down, popped the cap and filled it up the remaining way. my heater works VERY good now, no gurgling sound 2.
