Heavy Shaking in 2nd Gen

Just got my 94 back from the shop, and now I'm getting a ton of shaking from inside the car. Feels like its coming from the transmission. Anyone else experienced this before?

Sounds EXACTLY like U-joints, not to bad to replace, just remember to remove the retaining 'rings'.

did you have this shaking prior to taking it to the shop? If so were they suppose fix it? what did they say the root cause was?

tranmission/Transfer case mounts in good shape? The rubber will split eventually..

Im working through a shaking problem with my 1990, changing the gearbox mount has helped, Im about to replace the sagged rear springs as the rear uj angle is too high according to the tremec driveshaft app which measures uj angles.
When I jacked the car up to a better height the angle reduced.

A lift kit will change the pinion angle, which will cause vibrations.

It seems mine is too far the other way due to the sagged springs, if I measure the angle then jack the car to what I think is the correct height the combined angle is less.

Either way, the pinion angle should be parallel with the ground.
Not pointed up, not pointed down.

Check the output shaft bearings and the staked nut behind the flange. It tends to loosen up and cause vibration at the transfer case. A good set of u joints would help too. I'll stand behind spicer for top quality if you go that route

I have just put in new rear springs after months of messing about with wheel balancing, new UJs, drive shaft balancing and new gearbox mount. The shaking is gone. If your 4Runner has sagged and you have run out of options, Id suggest chexking your driveshaft angles, sorry I dont have a before and after as I thought about that after I'd started and by then there was no going back.

Can anyone answer:
I'm having vibration issues too and I'm thinking it's Drive shaft/ u joint related, but unsure. I changed front CVs thinking it could be the issue first.

My question before replacing Ujoints.... what if I remove rear drive shaft and then drive it in 4WD high at about 40mph? If vibration is gone then I'd narrow my issue to the rear drive shaft and or it's components - right?
