Does anyone have any experience with the HELLA 007133831 Micro FF Series 12V/55W Halogen Driving Lamp Kit?

The price is right at $55 and I'm planning on putting 4 on top of the Gobi Stealth Rack that's on order... I like the form factor of the Hella FF75 better, but at twice the price, my budget doesnt like them as much...

well... it appears I may be the first one here to order the micro Hella's. I ordered 2 kits so I can have 4 lights on the Gobi Stealth Rack that's coming my way.

I'll post some pics and a write up once I get all the goodies in and installed.

But kudos to Antman for providing some help and info so far!

These look like nice lights! I have some time yet before I buy driving lights as I'm waiting for the Defiant bar, so I've been wondering what would look better mounted on the front of a 5th Gen- rectangular or round lights? Maybe these Micros are better where you plan to mount them than on the bumper?

I bought the micro FF blues for the back of my gobi. Heard the performance for those little lights were pretty awesome. I have yet to put them on yet, so let me know.

I got them to be mounted on the front of the Gobi Stealth Rack. I've got the rack on order and it should be here towards the end of the month. In the promo-pics Gobi has 4 lights up there and it looks awesome; so for $110 I didnt think I could go wrong really.

I'm taking pics and doing a write up of the entire install, but it will be a couple weeks due to delivery times and family trips.

have you hooked them up to a power source yet? did you get the fog or driving lights? I thought the driving light pattern made more sense considering how high they will be mounted.
 
Not yet, I got these and 4 hella 450s for the front, but I'm going a different route with the lights, so I might not install them. I got the fogs for the back, because you don't really need that long throw of light for the rear.

The included wiring will work just fine for the 100W bulbs. Do, however, expect the life expectancy to be much shorter. The heat produced by the brighter bulbs takes it's toll... Nothing is free! :)
 
I had some on my isuzu trooper. They looked ok, but did not add much additional light. I mounted one under my 4r for a backup light, but again, it didn't increase the light enough to keep it. Switch the bulbs for sure.
 
So the bulbs will work, but will eventually burn out the wiring? Doesn't seem compatible to me!

How does the output of these lights with the 55w bulbs compare to the Hella 500's? My 500's weren't the brightest things in the world but they were good.

The wiring will be fine- the bulbs will not last as long. Sorry I didn't make that clear for you.
 
There are definitely nicer Hella's out there, but at $110 for 4 lights, this is about all my budget will afford me ... especially considering i just dropped over a grand on the rack itself. I'm not racing the Baja, so I'm figuring that for my semi-suburban use, these lights will hold me over just fine until there is more room in the budget.

Unless I'm out in farm country, i'm not allowed to run the lights anyway... at least not unless I'm wanting to find out how good of a relationship I have with my friends in blue :)

Depending on what options you have, you might have 2-3 open slots next to the RSCA button. You can either use the switches that come with the lights or a lot of people like to use Daystar rocker switches.
 
I had a set of Micro FF lights on my Explorer for around 13 years. (They were still on it when I sold it in February.) I had them wired to the high beams through a relay and they were still on the original bulbs when we parted. AWSOME lights. Really filled out the road when I was on unlit back roads. I could not believe how much light these little guys put out.
 
I have Daystar switches from OTTRATTW. OTRATTW

I've got the amber lenses to match the OEM lights. I'm planning on using factory empty locations, although I'm also checking into using the same location of Antman, but I'm not sure if the rocker switches will fit in that area.

I'm also thinking about ordering their auxiliary fuse box: OTRATTW

Hey Antman.. what do you think about that box? It would control the roof, prerunner and possible back lights as well as the compressor. Obviously I'm not adding all that now, but it has room to grow.
