I forgot to add, my reasoning for mounting it via two holes, instead of just drilling the lights into the plastic, was that I figured if the plate was attached to metal it would be more stable.
I have noticed that, for me at least, these lights tend to loosen up over time, and really tightening them down is very hard to do and keep them properly aligned while doing it. Should I use some loctite?

Ya I like the two hole idea! Looks very stable and stock too.
So far I haven't noticed any loosening. As I said, I drove to Washington last week and didn't have any problems with the lights becoming loose. Although, it also couldn't hurt using loctite. I think it's a personal decision.

That's where they used to be. The safari bar is flimsy. It is basically a bumper badger for the front. I keep it on there as a tie down point for long things on the rack, and to protect the bumper from NYC.
When the lights were there, they were always getting pushed out of alignment, and they didn't throw the ideal beam to work with the headlights.
