Hello all! Some pics and a brush guard question.

Well guys i have actually decided against a brush guard for my 4runner. I added some rear taillight guards and it just didnt look right for me, so i removed them. The more i look at the front end and the overall lines of the vehicle, the more i think a brush guard will detract from the look im going for.

Im hoping to add bigger tires and maybe bigger(17-22") black rims. If i go 22" i will not be putting on low prifile tires, as id still like them to be all-terrains. Im wondering what type/size of wheels and if its really worth doing a lift to accomodate them, or if i should stay with stock suspension and just focus on slightly more conservative wheels/tires.

check our the cooper ltz if you didn't want to lose the low profile but still want an all terrain, there pretty sick. Ive got the Grabber AT2's and they are awesome! they look better than the bfg's IMO and their half the price
edit" ooops never mind i see your asking for a wheel not a tire. there is a difference! :p

LINY your truck looks great! So those are factory Sequoia wheels you painted black?

M1219 are you refering to my headlights? They are sold on ebay by a seller called sabersport(i think) and are referred to as "jdm" headlamps. They were relatively cheap($165 pr.) and i love them as they make the vehicle look years newer. The put out a funny light pattern on the road but thats about the only bad thing i can think of. Along with the HID's they give it a newer more luxury look.

Guys i think my transmission has been "slipping" lately. When driving normal, the car will jerk back and forth. I removed the tranny oil pan, replaced the fluid, and cleaned out the filter(which was actually pretty clean). There was a fair amount of gunmetal colored residue around the pan so i wiped all that off. It still didnt help. BTW, its at 257000 miles.

Has anyone had to have their tranny repaired or replaced and if so how much was it? I have had horrible experience in the past with having shops rebuild my transmissions so i am inclined to just buy a used one and swap it in. Does anyone know what the newest year model is that has the exact same tranny? Maybe i can locate a low mileage newer yr model one.

OP, I dont know how I missed this thread. I hadnt seen your truck until today. The all black is just awesome. Ive been slowly color matching my 98. Ive been considering getting new wheels in gunmetal, flat black, or gloss black, and Im thinking your truck has me convinced to go with gloss black.

A few questions for ya . . .

How much did you pay for the paint job? And did they do a single stage base coat, or a base and clear coat? It looks fantastic.

Also, how much was the fuel gauge sensor? Thats something I need to replace as well
