Hello everybody...She's back!

I finally have my 3RZ back together! She passed inspection this morning & I drove her to work! I had two weird noises on the highway & I thought the rear diff was exploding! LOL I had to pull over twice & didn't see or hear anything strange. If the diff wasn't set up correctly I guess it would be making a grinding noise the whole time not just at 65 or over. But anyway I took it slow in the right lane & made it to work. I think it was my PS mud flap rubbing against the tire at high speeds, freaked me the f#ck out! LOL Only 2 of the 4 bolts are holding it in place because 2 broke off in the bumper because of rust. I secured it with doubled sided tape until my SW rear bumper arrives. I'm not gonna waste my time drilling them out.

So Yea I'm very happy & cant wait to drive home in a few minutes. 5 speed baby!!! Oh , & no sway bars either LOL Just as a test, curiosity really until I get the SS bracket extensions so it doesn't hit my e-locker actuator.

I forgot to mention that after I got to work the remote died so I couldn't start her to go out on my lunch break. I have the dealer installed Lo-Jack with ignition disabler so if I cant disengage the alarm she no starty! LOL I had a co-worker drive me to the store & picked up 2 batteries.

But that's what this is about, I have a wheelin' trip in a week & a half & my trucks been basically sitting for a year & a half except for trips around the block so I need to get all of the bugs out of her before I get into the woods 300 miles from home.

I'm going to private property on the CT/MA boarder off I84. Wheel all day Sat, primitive camping overnight & wheel on Sun. Limited to 30 trucks.

Now that my 3RZ is back on the road I can do some much need maintenance on my Limited. I need to send you my climate control & a few clocks LOL.

Also need to do the LBJ's & rad. I have no records of them being changed.

Interested to hear you opinion on no sway bars.
I had them off my 2nd gen 4R at one point, and it had so much body roll, it was scary. I know guys' here have said it's fine without, but I assumed they didn't drive fast like I do.
I rode in [MENTION=135317]rkntoy[/MENTION]'s rig a couple weekends back, and his felt just fine at 70mph. We weren't hittin twisties at 70, but we took some corners, and all felt just fine.
He does have the panhard brackets, and I know those made a huge difference in the stability of my rig, so maybe that's one reason his feels fine without them.

I drive fast & have to travel up & down a twisty mountain road every day so they're going back on! LOL The truck felt great on the straight aways & over bumps & construction but def tippy on curves. I'm too paranoid about loosing the back end in an emergency situation. It also depends on what suspension you're running. I haven't mentioned it yet on this board but I bought a 3rd 4runner. LOL I know I need help! It has a Toytec Boss kit in it & it sucks! It's so stiff & teeth chattering I dont know how people can drive these kits. The Sonoran Steel Tundra/LC is so much smoother but the Toytec is def firmer on turns with less body roll. It's ok on smooth roads but going over rough roads & pot holes is terrible.

Edit: A few years ago when I went to Ext sway bar links in the front I drove around with no front sway bar for about 2 weeks. Felt great & Caddy smooth over potholes but a little out of control on turns. I have a 1" BL too. Extended sway bar links is the way to go, especially if you have a softer suspension.

It definitely does depend on what suspension you are running. I love the progressive TRD springs in front and personally think they do well without the swaybar. I tried no rear swaybar in the rear when I had my Superflex springs and they were wayyyyyyy to soft. So I just made my links an inch or so longer in the rear. Have not tried going without a swaybar with my OME 861 springs.

Yeah, good point on the springs/shocks you're running playing a significant role in body roll without a sway bar.
I don't think I'm interested in ditching the sway bars, especially because I like twisty roads and soft suspension.

I took my rear sway bar off once to see if it was making the clunking noise I was having. It was not making the noise, and I did not like the way it handled without it and all I did was drive through the neighborhood. I've never tried taking the front off, but I will never take the rear off for sure.

The fronts off & rear on isn't as scary.
