Hello Everyone.. Check out my new 06 Sport

I'm the proud owner of my first new car. 06 White 4 Runner Sport V8 2WD. This is the best SUV that I have ever owned! Hands down, the handling on the Sport is similar to that of my wifes Acura Integra.

I could not live without leather, so I got custom leather (dark graphite). So far, that's the only thing I have done to my new runner.

I live in San Diego, so I could not justify the added cost of 4WD. I traded in an 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - 4.0 2wd for my Runner. It had about 100K miles and was on its last leg. Hopefully my Toyota will last longer!

What I mean by the handling is that the Runner does not handle like a typical SUV. It's up there with the BMW X5 and other higher end SAVs. I'm impressed at how the X-REAS prevents rolling when cornering...

That is a great looking truck! The 4Runner definitely is one of the better handling SUV's out there. Oh, and a Toyota will outlast a Jeep without a doubt. You can put well over 100,000 miles on a Toyota and it will still run like you just drove it out of the showroom!

The stealer said that he noticed more white sales than any other color over the past couple of months!!

I wonder how long it will take until the chrome begins to look weathered?

Welcome to the board. That's a sharp looking truck. I too am from San Diego. We definitely do not need 4WD due to weather, but I got it on my T4R because I do enjoy heading out to Anza Borrego, or up to the Fire roads in the Lagunas.

I just got back from initiating my 4Runner to dirt today. I went on Black Mtn Road in Romona. It's not that rough, but I was impressed how the runner performed in the dirt. About 20 miles of dirt fire roads. Good times!

I also have a White 4R Sport V8, although mine is 4WD. Ditto on the color choice. - I think 4Rs look awesome in white. As for the handling, I totally agree, the new 4Rs have excellent handling and the XREAS on the Sport models allow it to handle much like a car. You may want to read a past post where XREAS saved my life.

Congrats on the truck. You will love more and more each day.

It looks great on the '06 sport. The black-chrome grill, with the smoked headlamps and grey tube bars give it just enough contrast.

I've had 3 black 4runners but have always secretly like the way white runners look. Nice choice! :clap:
