Obviously I am a newbie to the forum. I previously owned a 1999 Tacoma 4x4 and loved that truck, but it was not practical for carrying more than two people, so I ended up having to trade it off. Well today I was able to pick up what I think is a very nice condition Gen 3 1997 4Runner. It has 254,452 miles on it. Once I talked with the owner, the mileage didn't bother me. He manages a tire and automotive garage and had everything on this 4Runner repaired or replaced as needed and ran Mobile 1 in the engine. Without getting long winded about it, short of pulling the motor apart and rebuilding it, most every component is new or near new. It drives and runs better than some 2k vehicles I have driven lately. Nope it isn't perfect, it is 16 years old after all, but for me I am happy with it. Looking forward to having fun with it.
