Hello T4R.ORG! New NYC 4unner Owner here...

Good afternoon everyone. You have all been a big help to me so far and don't even know it. I have been browsing and searching through the forum for weeks now and just got my new 2013 Magnetic Grey Limited w/ Auto Running Boards and 3rd row seating! I am super excited and happy to be a T4R driver!

After searching for weeks on endlooking for black on black with no luck, I finially settled with the Magnetic Grey and I am very happy. Had her shipped out to me from Baltimore with 9 miles on it!

So far I have added a Trail FX Bull Bar to the front and I purchased one of those super bumpers after beingtold by my accesory guy here that he couldn't add a back guard because the factory tow hitch was drilled and welded to the area where he would attach...? Has anyone else had this prblem or run into this issue?

I am now decding what other things to add... Any good quick, relatively cheap fixes for some more speed, accelaration. This is my first 4 x 4 in a longlong time and I feel it lacks the giddy up I'd like...

Again, I appreciate all your help already and look forward to chiming in on the boards...

Sorry. Not even any hard, expensive fixes for speed and acceleration. You have but a few choices:
1. Take out all weight (2nd and 3rd row seats, carpet, etc) and install lighter wheels and smaller lighter tires or
2. Wait for a supercharger, may be out this year.
3. Some type of add on turbocharger

These three options are pretty much what you can do to add true acceleration and speed. Anything else is just spending money for the sake of spending it.

Not really a far fetched idea. I actually took the tow hitch off my 3rd gen when I bought it because I don't tow and still have it sitting in my cellar. It's brand new. I wish I could take the hitch off my 11, but then there would be a gaping hole. I wish they have us an option to buy a cover that is color matched. If they did, I would take the hitch off my 5th gen as well.

Use Sport mode, i.e. shift into S and bump it up to 5, don't just put it in D, and it will be more responsive. Use non-ethenol premium from day 1,,,, the travel on the gas pedal is long so put your foot in it hard, and it will move. I LOVE NYC, spent the week of July 4th there with my son, who is stationed at Ft. Drum with the U.S. Army/10th Mountain Div.

Im in Queens and work in the Bronx. I see a few 5th gens around my parts. All are stock though. Nothing exciting. :bored:
