HELP!!! 93 3vze won't start, when did start it didn't idle

Hey guy's,
I'm having a mega issue here. I've got a '93 3vze petrol, after two mechanics and an auto elec have all been trying to dignose problems on my engine, and are still working on it..

long story but in a nutshell bought this car from an auction on one side of the country while I live over the other side. The car has a rebuilt engine when i bought it but didnt start. timing was out and that got fixed. but it never idled properly. that was 6 mths ago and now coming back to pick it up it won't start. to even look at the idle issue. so now... dizzy was tested and showed no faults, auto elec said it had intermitant faults so I got another one. now new plugs and leads(cause the other new ones in it where fouled up). timing has been adjusted, vacuum hoses all replaced getting a new MAF tommorow.all new filters all fuses checked, all gaskets new, new fuel and oil, auto elec has had the dignostics computer on it when it was running and it showed no faults, apparently there is a new updated version for his computer and that will be going on once it has restarted. With the idle issue next thing i was to check was the IAC because i've heard that will not show up on the computer...
Your help and knowledge would be a godsend!!!!!!

spark plug color?
did you carfax and make sure it wasnt a katrina victim?
vacuum hose is only like .30 cents a foot so buy a roll and redo the lines one by one so you dont confuse them its always good to redo them every 5 years so its worth a shot.

another thing you can do is buy a big cheap cigar and start puffing and see if you have a leak.

changed the vucuum hoses already, but loving the cigar idea!!!! will get a stogie tommorow and double check!

That would have been great thanks Bad_Vision, the car is based in Melbourne though so bit of a mish! if he's a toyota specialist though I might be able to get my mechanics and auto elec to go through it via phone though...

I have some ideas, hope one of them helps. Do you now if your fuel pump is running in the fuel tank, or if the filter screen is clean. The pump also is turned on by movement of the flap in the MAF, so maybe try to pull the air cleaner off and while somebody cranks it gently push on the flap, it might be stuck. The starting injector might not be working, try pulling the pcv tube off of the intake tube just before the throttle body, and squirt in some starting fluid and see if it fires, then you can narrow down the problems just to the fuel system. Another idea is that the coil might be bad, and isn't able to make a spark while you are cranking it with the key, so if it is a 5 speed, have somebody pull you and try dumping the clutch in 2nd to bump start it, it worked on an old WWII jeep. If I think of any other ideas I will let you know. -Good Luck-

hi WoodsRunner88, fuel pump is running in the fuel tank but will double check the filter screen, ubt we are checking the fuel by clamping the fuel return line today.we've tried the screwdriver in the flap of the MAF and your thought on the PCV could be right so i will also get a hose and test that how it's mentioned in the manual with a hose and blowing through on either side. coils making spark but might try roll start it later today... thanks!!!

Still not able to start

Update... Have a new and very expensive MAF changed EFI relay and still not starting, it cranks well and there isn't much that hasn't been replaced now.. any ideas????

How many miles or KMs you up to? I have a 93 and it had 225K miles it still ran ok, but had a knok or piston slap. Maybe you can check your compression, low compression = low or no fire? Rebuilt could mean the heads rebuilt and not the lower end to some folks:surfer:
