Help choosing remote start

Thank you, gptoy96. Surely that would be a given, but this will be my first. And a '2nd' on the lock/unlock option, because the car came from used dealer with nothing but 1 Master key, so getting pwr dr locks back in the process, w/o having to get the OEM fobs ($$$$$) will be sweeeeet.

No problem, I'm in the same boat with my Tacoma. The previous owner lost the fobs so I'll just get the locks tied into my remote start when I get it hopefully soon.

What about Crimestopper... Are their keyless entry/remote starts any good? I have no idea who they're made by, but they seem pretty inexpensive.

Does anyone know about Crimestopper's products? Yay? Nay?

Don't know about Crimestopper's, sorry...I got a Avital 4103, its made by DE. It was actually a groupon that I found...was $150 and some change installed. However, the first appt they had for install is not until Feb. 7th! So I'll have to wait until then to let you know how it works.

I bought a Viper 5902HD from a member here about 1.5 years ago. I have yet to install it. The problem with this system is that it costs over $800 brand new. Even after such a steep price, our runners require a $100 adapter on top of the price. If you want to control it using your iPhone or Android, that's another $100 adapter. I finally set up an appointment about 2 months ago to have it installed for $350, including the adapter required for the 4runner. I chose not to have the Android or iPhone option. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the shop didn't have me on the books for an appointment. I haven't made another appointment since.

So basically, if I had purchased this retail, it would have been over $1,200 just for remote start. When I was at the shop, they still had the 5902HD for sale for about $869 and that was just a few months ago. I couldn't believe it.

I know it's a great system, but that's crazy.
