Help me choose 1 of these 3 rear bumpers. Please

I am cheap, even penny-wise but pound-foolish, but I would not hire somebody to weld a bumper for me. If there is a difference of opinion over the completed welding, who pays, and how much?

I doubt bumper mfr's overpay their welders, and I would not underpay one (unless I could weld). So the only real savings I would expect would be the shipping. Not worth the risk to me.

I would get an aluminum bumper, not a kit.

Well the price of a dual arm rear bumper is 2500ish. To me that's insane, I get it its a nice bumper but because it's for a 4Runner is why the price must be so high. For a Xterra it was not 2500 it was close to 1500. The Coastal Offroad is the only kit bumper route I would go. the Victory is the cheapest but they make their money back in the arms and the parts you need once you get the arms. I wish I lived in CO sometimes bcause RSG offered to weld the bumper for me for 500 bucks but I am on the Gulf in AL. Almost every shop I have contacted said they don't want the job and can't design me one to weld on their own.

If I was buying hinges, I would go with something more like the ones from 4xinnovations. Way better quality latches and hinges than Coastal is offering at a better price. Besides you can get the Destaco latches dirt cheap from amazon, and 2x2 square tubing at any steel supply.

I own two LFD rear bumpers, one one my '12 with no swing arms and the other on my '19 with 2 swing arms. their price without swing arms is very competitive and it comes already powder coated which is nice as you don't have to worry about finding someone to do a good job much less getting it there and back.

It's very easy to install as I'm sure most are. It's very solid with 12 bolts holding it one.

I've had them both for about a month and have been happy thus far without a doubt.

I also have the roof rack on my '19. their customer service is very good as well which stands for something.

As I mentioned the other day they are not that far so if you wanted to save some money with the price of gas today you could pick it up from them. I live about 5 minutes from them and could easily help you install before you go home.

They have one for 2300 but what's it come with? their site is weird. Does it come bare with 2 arms for 2300? and if I want hilift mount and nato cans holder it's extra? I would rather paint everything myself

The tire is on the driver side, you could call and ask if they would put it on the driver side. I do not know if they have ever done it or not. why do you want it on the passenger side?

they and I are both located in Denver, NC which is about 30 miles NW of Charlotte NC. It's not around the corner from you but it's a lot closer than Michigan for Victory. shipping on bumpers is expensive so if you can pick it up you can save a lot of money. I would say in the range of $350-425. I think for the front bumper on my wife's '12 I paid around $400 from TX.

I've built several buggies, and love building stuff. Too bad you aren't closer, I'd for sure knock it out for you. I'd say it's around 6-8 hours off solid welding involved by yourself, with help it would probably be quicker.

You just missed it.. LFD was practically giving away two 5th gen swing-out bumpers a few weeks back compared to competitors pricing. I would follow their social media accounts and check them daily. I have bought LFD products for the sole purpose that they are very solid products, they are a small business out of NC (not a big name corporation), they are great at responding/offering advice, they are genuine guys that like being out in the woods testing gear.

LFD on my vote.

So I narrowed it down to LFD and Victory. Is there really a big difference between the 2? How are the camera relocation kits for the LFD and how are the Arms? There is only a little but of a price difference and I plan on getting the arms down the road. I have to see who has the less expensive arms for down the road.

Couldn't agree more, there are absolutely no shortcomings with 4x4Labs products.

Their sliders for 5th gens have considerably more clearance than any other product I've seen on the market as well, they're a boat-side style that replaces all of the plastic trim under the body. The increase in clearance is huge and for me, I find them actually useful as a step. I find the more common tube style too low to be useful for entry/egress.

To the OP, not sure what you're looking for, but I think the Victory is a more attractive bumper, and you get built in aux lights. Just my thoughts!

I think it’s a toss up really. Between those two I’d go with the Victory, it’s just a bit more pleasing to the eye but I don’t think you can go wrong with either and it’s splitting hairs. I have not seen the Victory camera in person but judging from the picture and videos I’ve seen I would not go with theirs. I think mounting a camera to the tire carrier is silly. If you ever have to change your tire you have to take off the camera and the mount which is a big hassle imo. It’s another few steps to do especially when you’re in a stressful situation. I’d recommend looking at the Rigd Supply relocate kit. It doesn’t require you to splice into the oem system rather it bypasses it. Otherwise C4 sells a kit as well that’s reasonably priced.
