glad to hear it is running better.

I looked and didn't see it mentioned in this thread so I will mention it now:

These 4Runners really really really seem to need OEM/Toyota Plugs and Plug Wires in order to function properly.

If you are replacing anything (especially since the vehicle is new to you), I would check what Plugs and Plug Wires are on the vehicle now and when replacing them use OEM / Toyota parts.

I'd really look into one of those bluetooth OBD-II readers then. Sounds like you're going to be diagnosing your rig for a while and sure makes it easier when you're not relying on the kid at at the auto parts store.

Went away by itself on the way to advanced. Got it checked any way. Came back with no codes. It was only on for like 5 minutes total

Came back on so I got it checked and it cam back with 4 codes all to do with cat. No big deal I was thinking about getting exhaust done as first mode any ways with no cat

After replacing all the things I did. I decided screw I'll try all the boots 5 out of the 6 broke when pulling them off the plugs replaced all of them when doing plugs disconnected battery and boom no codes no miss at all. It's all solved drove it for a while and everything is good. I'm super stoked now I can start upgrading the exterior

So what was the issue? The wires on the spark plugs broke off? I'm having the same problems but my codes were P0300, p0302, p0304 and p0306

When I got my truck it was running super rough on all cylinders flashing cel. kept asking what it could be if anyone is having this issue change out your plugs and wires with denso and ngk first before considering anything else will save some stress and time and most likely will resolve your problem Imo

I'm ordering plug boots right now LOL. I have an engine that runs real bad but compression and everything is fine, it's either fuel or ignition. My guess is ignition based off your experience. At one point it was throwing misfires on 1,2,3,4 and 6. Now just 4 and 6 but that was without driving it, just idling.

I just had the same thing when i bought mine. Got it for 3500. It skipped during acceleration and on the highway. Also wobbled bad above 65mph.

$393 later, it runs near perfect. new plugs, wires/boots, and balance/alignment.
