So there seem to be a few consistent issues my 3rd gen has been having. Not sure if they are related or not.
1. For some reason there are times when she wont start. I changed batteries, so that is new. On occasion, it will just click when I turn the ignition (all electronics come on), other times I get a slight engine turn. After trying it multiple times, it starts and runs fine.
2. Recently this started (last couple of weeks, noticed after jiffy lube did an oil change and I installed a k&n air filter, not saying those caused it but sharing in case). When I accelerate, the engine revs higher, rpms and engine noise increasing, but she doesn't go faster. It's like a slow lull. Sometimes, it will hit 3-4k, then catch and move. Seemed to be different in different gears. I cleaned the MAF sensor and unplugged the EFI fuse. Was driving it to see if it would reset. Tonight, it got really bad, to the point where I thought we were going to be on the side of the road. In addition, a burning smell started to accompany it, when I was pushing her to move.
No CEL, only ABS light on. I've had 3 of the 4 O2 sensors replaced in the last year, and I'm closing in on 175k miles. Had last major service at 160k. New brakes and tires in the last year as well. Original clutch and engine.
Anyway, figured someone on here may have some ideas. I cleaned the MAF based on what I read and saw it could be a vacuum leak. Hoping it's not something major.
Thanks in advance.
