Help, my dog ate my 4runner

I left some food in my glove box so the dog wouldn't eat it. He decided to try anyway. Is there a way to replace the dash without messing around with the airbag? If I got an old dash from a junk yard can I install it without triggering or removing the airbag? I believe airbag stuff is really expensive. If not, do I just have to live with a really ugly interior? Any info is much appreciated.

You can't remove the dash without removing the airbag, but that isn't a problem at all. Disconnect your battery and the airbag is disabled. When you plug it back in, make sure your battery is disconnected.

Just dissconnect the battery when you start working. Be aware, some years used a really large Torx security bit to fasten the airbag in.

i replaced mine without having to mess with the airbags. The air bag is mounted to the frame under the dash so it doesn't need to be removed. I had never done it before and it only took about 2 hours.
