Nice.. I personally only use gaskets on all transmission pans. You are correct Toyota did glue the transmission pans on the 3rd gens by factory and do not sell a pan gasket. A lot of newer transmission they seem to went back to gaskets again. Not sure about my 09 tocuma but my 07 sienna van and 2010 van use pan gaskets again and it seems to vary on Toyota models.
I used several Feel pro gaskets on the 3rd gens and even put 70K on 1 of them with zero issues with the gaskets. The main reason I use gaskets is to save time cleaning the gasket area. To me it is just easier and faster to just replace the gasket on the pans. They come down so much easier and you don't distort the pan lip trying to get it off either. But this is only my preference though. Glad to see people changing the filters too as that really helps the transmission last a lot longer.
