Help needed!!

Hey guys,

I know this is a 3rd Gen forum, but I can't find this info on the web. I'm looking for a diagram of the location of the Evap Canister for my P.O.S 2004 Chevy Impala LS. Apparently, it's located on top of my gas tank, but I found that info on Yahoo answers, and can't find a diagram.

Can anybody here point me to a site where I could get a diagram????


Any help would be much appreciated.


P.S. I hate my Chevy.......

Have you checked obvious places like the rear tire's fender well? or under the butt end of the car (Where my spare tire is). In the meantime, I will check the net for the possible placement.

Chevrolet Impala I have code PO449 set. Iknow it has to do - JustAnswer


1 - Fuel Tank
2 - Fuel Pump and Sender Assembly
3 - Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor
4 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid





Raise and support the vehicle.
Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve electrical connector.
Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve from the EVAP emission canister hose.

Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve bracket bolt.
Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.
