Thursday night, I was driving home and my ABS light came on along with my VSC icon. The "VSC OFF" light above those 2 icons was also flashing. I pulled over, turned the truck off, then back on and they went away.
Friday morning the lights came on again, but not immediately. I usually have to drive 2-5 miles after starting it up before they come on. It is always the same lights, but nothing appears to be/feels wrong. Yesterday, I did some mild off-roading and the VSC light activated when I started to slip going up a hill, but the warning lights did not come on. In fact, they didn't come on during my drive home either.
I checked the manual and it says to contact the dealer immediately, which I did on Saturday. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have it looked at, but based on the infrequency of the issue, it seems more like a glitch than an actual problem. I also tried tightening the gas cap which seemed to prevent the lights from coming on after fueling up that day (Friday) but obviously didn't solve the problem since they came on again on Saturday and Sunday. I have not driven it yet today...
Any ideas, advice or troubleshooting tips you could share are appreciated. The only thing I've done out of the ordinary lately was replace the fuse for my A/V outlet. I put in an aftermarket fuse from O-Reilly auto parts. I wouldn't think this has anything to do with the problem, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
If you can save me a trip to the dealer and the $70-$90 diagnostic fee, I'd be really grateful, owe you a beer and send some good karma your way :thumb:
