This part which is near the catalytic converter is leaking what appears to be radiator fluid. I have no idea what this part is. Can someone please help me identify it? Also any further advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Look at the lines behind that heat shield. Those are the lines that carry coolant to the heater core under the passenger seat for the rear seat heat.

You'll need to inspect it to see if the core is leaking or if it's possibly the rubber lines behind that heat shield.

It's not a metal box. It's just a sheetmetal heat shield to keep the heat from the catalytic convertor from cooking the hoses.

You really should crawl back under it and look closer. The other side is open.

This happened to me on my 98. Just take that shield off and there will be two lines that are steel with rubber hoses clamped to them. I'd bet your lines are rusted out. You can do what I did and just cut the bad metal out, paint the little bit of freshly exposed metal and get a longer section of rubber coolant hose and clamp it on there.

Good luck
