help wiring a line output converter for a sub.

i ordered this on amazon... Amazon.com: Boss BASS1500 10 inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: Electronics ... and i chose to use the rca inputs on it instead of the speaker plug. so i need to wire up a line output converter to make rca's so i can keep my stock stereo. if possible i would like to use the left rear speaker for the taps. (or do i have to go directly behind the stereo?) either would be do able. and also i need to know the (right +,-) and the (left +,-) colors to tap into. i searched online for a while and had no luck. I have a 1999 sr5 6cyl

any help would be apreciated!!

do yourself a favor and get a new headunit. its a must for sound quality. speaker level inputs straight suck.

that deffinatly would be ideal, but im only driving this for maybe a year more caus its not mine. i want everything to still be stock, i just want a quick n dirty sub install for some temporary lows.

go to your nearest wal mart. get the rca to speaker level input converter. it will be self explanatory from there. . .

do yourself one more favor and download the FSM for your vehicle so you can have the schematic for the radio. you can trace ANYTHING to the source.

thanks a ton. this is exactly what i was looking for. ill get around to doin the wiring later on today n ill take some pics. i already have an output converter from my local audio store. its by orion. Orion® Car Audio - ORLOC60 - Adjustable Line Output Converter 60 Watt

done. done. and done. fits like a glove under my drivers seat and worked on the first try wiring it all up. not overwhelmingly loud but just perfect for what i want ( after some tedious tuning). what a great buy.



if anyone wants some more detailed pics on placement and wiring just lemme know!
