Help with choosing lights for roof rack

Hi guys and gals,

I'm trying to decide on 4 rigid 6" led lights--should I mount driving lights up there or flood/spot light combo lights?

Two of each? What combination would you recommend?. The two lights I'm looking at are linked below.

What's the goal? Are you lighting up a worksite, driving the Baja1000, or looking for a little more bling at the mall?

Good point. Going off road for Camping, off-roading at night on trails at a SLOWER pace than the baja 1000.

Either of the bars you linked would be fine for area illumination. Be aware that neither is ideal as a driving light - the light will be too white, and too close to the vehicle, you'll be restricted to a MUCH slower pace than the Baja .

But either will work for what you want, if I had to choose between just those two lamps for doing what you're doing, I'd go with the cheap one.

I would get the combo. It will give the best light performance.

Rigid would probably tell you the newer light is better. I don't think you could tell the difference between them though. I think it doesn't matter which you get and you should go with the one that costs less.

What kind of roof rack are you putting these on? Just bought a new Trail and looking into roof racks and lights myself and feeling pretty overwhelmed/confused. Helps to hear what other's are thinking about, thanks!

It's a gobi stealth rack. I'm also looking at the 6" rigid E2 spot /flood lights.

Thanks redkaz04. I was liking the looks of that Gobi Stealth, definitely leaning towards that one myself right now. Gonna be a little bit, though. Still feeling the financial pain from the car purchase, lol

Hah. Nice ride you have though. I almost traded in for a new one. Guess I'm liking my 4th gen too much. My 04 just crossed 150k so I'm planning on driving it at least 100k more. More room for toys though my gobi is going on this weekend.
