Help with diminished value

I had my 2014 Trail (55k) rear ended last year while I was stopped. I ended up costing $2000 to replace the bumper cover and respray the hatch (it had some paint scuffs). I requested a diminished value claim from the other person’s insurance. In the end I got a check for $500 for the diminished value.
