Help with front suspension bounce

Hello all. I have 2003 v8 that has had the xreas and ras removed a few years ago when the rear bags blew out. My 4Runner has 103k on it and the original front suspension. When going on the beach over bumpy sand the front end has excessive bounce in it and does not absorb the bounces well. I have to slow down to to keep it from bouncing so much. So my question is what is my cheapest option that will fix this. Any opinions are appreciated. Also IÂ’d be willing to try and do the work myself if it isnÂ’t too crazy. Thanks IÂ’m advacne

So what front shocks do you have now?

Extra bouncing over bumps is from the shocks not slowing the springs down adequately letting them bounce all over the place. You should be looking for stiffer shocks than what you currently have to fix that problem, although that could risk making the street performance harsher.

I’m not sure what the front suspension is. I’m assuming it’s the original. I see the bilstein 5100s always getting thrown around. Just looking for some opinions and what it’ will potentially cost. Mostly use is it for the beach. Occasionally the snow. Driving the kids around sometimes.

I think you'll need to upload some pictures of the front suspension/shocks. The XREAS system is tied into the shock fluid so when it goes out, ripping it out and replacing it entails replacing all the shocks as well almost 100% of the time, unless just the rear shocks were removed very specifically at their check valves and it hasn't leaked any shock fluid at those points.

Yeah. You say XREAS was removed... and then say it is original lol. Whatever you have sounds like it is blown. Time to lift.
