Help with front suspension

Hey guys I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I need new struts in the front of my 2011 4Runner SR5 and I currently have the stock ones and a ReadyLift 3/2 lift leveling kit and I'm running 33" toyo MT's. I would prefer to install a complete strut assembly but I can't find any brand name ones that are reasonably priced other than Monroe. What's everyone running here as a replacement for the original from the factory? I don't go offroad, this is my daily driver. Thanks for any suggestions

If by with springs attached you mean complete strut assembly, I don't know where to send you for a "reasonably priced" one. I think the BIlsteins are reasonably priced, but I don't know what factory replacement Monroe's go for.
 
The only assembled bilstein struts with springs attached i could find were from ToyTec and they were $599 for the pair. The Monroe ones go for about $120 each but I want a decent ride quality. I suppose I could go with a ToyTec system and remove the readylift spacers but it's pricey
 
I don't think you'll find anything cheaper than $120 per with springs already included and assembled. A pair of aftermarket springs by themselves is $200, so $599 for a pair of Billy's preassembled is not too bad.
 
Well I'm not really looking for anything cheaper but was more interested in seeing if anyone was running monroe or any other brand and how the ride is.
 
Anyone ever use the spring compressor you can rent from auto parts stores to change out just the shock on the strut assembly?
 
"Cheap" and "quality" will almost never exist in the same product . Think of it as inversely proportional. In general, you get what you pay for. The Bilsteins are pretty good option. Typically for what you are looking to do, just opting for the struts and keeping the stock spring will give you a reasonable improvement. Even a "budget" full lift kit will have some pretty improvement over stock+spacers.
Cant say from experience, but i think you will probably end up disappointed in the Monroe set-up if you are looking for ANY amount of improvement over stock.

I think there are some write-ups on here that show you how to do this procedure with out the need for the spring compressors, which can be tricky and user UN-friendly

Not on the 4Runner, but yes, I have a pair at home. Just be careful to maintain equal pressure on them. Tighten each side a little at a time, and loosen them the same way.
 
It's sooooo much easier to do them without a spring compressor, and safer too. I really don't understand why anyone would go through the hassle of using them if they are doing it in their garage without a lift.
 
pull strut assembly, cinch coils with ratchet straps, disassemble the strut assembly, put coil on new strut.... assemble and enjoy. BTW screw monroe, buy some billys and use your factory coils. Throw those spacers in the trash.

You are gonna get someone hurt posting this- very dangerous and stupid to do that!
 
the other option is to find stock take off from other members here. there are many in this forum. good luck

I still got the whole suspension that I pulled off my 2015 at ~300 miles. I could be persuaded to sell since I plan on keeping this beast around for a long time.
 
Gonna check and see if I can find a local shop to compress the spring and mount some bilsteins to the factory springs and reinstall. Thanks for the advice everyone.
