Help with TRS Morimoto HID install

Hey guys,

I'm trying to install a Morimoto XB55 (50W) HID kit from TRS.

I got the HD Relay harness that came with it. This is where my confusion occurs.

Wires from the HD Relay harness:
1 - Negative wire
1 - Positive wire to battery
2 - Ballast connectors
*1 - OEM/Input wire that plugs to the OEM harness

Now most of the HID kits I've install on my other cars had a ballast connector and a OEM/Input connector that will extend all the way to the passenger side.

In the HD harness provided, there is a ballast connector wire that extends pretty long that can go to the passenger side. But NO OEM/input wire. Only 1 for the driver side.

The only OEM/Input wire that comes from the HD relay harness can plug to the driver side.


So my question is did I get the wrong HD Harness? Or am I suppose to do something so that way I can connect the passenger side to the relay harness somehow?

That's the way its supposed to be. There is only one trigger wire from the oem headlight harness because no matter what, both headlights turn on and off at the same time. If one side is on, the other side is on as well.

So I had the driver side installed with the HIDs and left the passenger stock halogen bulb and the driver side HID works.

But when I plug everything for the passenger side I have a a wire connector that doesn't plug into anything which is suppose to plug to the OEM/input harness.

Also when I plug in both HID both headlights don't work like it's not getting power. But when I plug in the stock halogen to the passenger side and hid to the driver side, both work. Of course only the driver side is HID.

Page 5 should show you how the wires should go.

If everything matches up and you still have an issue with only one lighting up, there might be a defective relay in the morimoto harness. Contact the retrofit source and they'll take care of it, their costumer service is great.

the output of the toyota plug for the driver's side bulb triggers the ballast for both the driver and passenger side. I left the passenger output plug from the toyota factory harness inside the headlight housing.
