When I bought my Urban Runner in October 2008, I had the dealer install XM radio in the head unit. The dealer outsourced it to a very reputable stereo shop, and they did a good job. The XM channels are displayed through the Tom Tom, just like any other NAV.
Well, yesterday, I get in my truck and poof! my XM has vanished. Gone. The only sign of it is the antenna that was installed on the dashboard. No XM channel displays, no radio ID, nothing. Vanished.
I brought it to the guys that put it in for me and all they had to do was reset the unit. Fine. But they showed me a very cool Pioneer NAV, full size (not like the dinky Tom Tom that only displays the first 11 letters of any channel or artist or song title, so that they are always cut off) that obviously blows the Tom Tom away. Offered it installed for $950.
I'm kicking myself for not having THAT done back in October and then rolling the cost into the monthly payments for what, and extra $15 a month??? With the economy the way it is now, I can't afford a thousand bucks for this but I'm dying for it.
Oh well. Soon.....
