Hey all.... I'm new here and I just wanted to say hi. I've been checking out A LOT of T4R forums and found this the best. So here I am!

Currently my 4runner is on order. I'll be getting a Black 2008 Sport 4x4 V8. LOADED. Complete with NAV, JBL Synthesis and the whole nine yards. Didn't much care for the leather seats in the LTD... and for some reason I kinda liked the look of the hood scoop in all its useless glory. hehe

I'll post some pics as soon as it comes in.... but not before I get him a new set of shoes!

Any one here from fabulous las vegas??

Some popular car review magazine started this i think...
I think it was car and driver, but i can only find the article of them crying about the tacoma's hood scoop.

Congrats on your new 4Runner and good luck with it. You have a seriously fully loaded sport! :D I have never seen a Sport with nav.

Yup, that was said in a review of the 4th gen 4Runner when it came out by one of those magazines. I wish I could find the link.

bwaahahahaa. Sorry I didn't mean to wish you bad things. There was a car review a few years back and the 4Runner wasn't rated that highly. One of of the bad points against it was that the scoop on the hood blocked your vision when you were climbing hills. I meant it as a joke, so hopefully no bad feelings.

No hard feelings at all... I already know a few review people weren't too keen on the scoop.... but I think they were all 4'3", and only drove on roads with a 45deg incline. We also need to remember, these were the same people that put the runner in the bottom of the top 10 list for 4x4 suv's.... now can we REALLY take them seriously???

I liked the slightly more aggressive look with the scoop... I kinda wish they would have made it more usefull... like maybe added a lazer beem that shot out the front!!! (the nissan in front of me never saw it coming)

I'm not sure they even pre package the Sport with NAV... but I know you can order it as an option.
 
Yeah,that 1" of vision space is the deal killer. :D

No kids, no wife, and I'm not a big fan of a stock ride... so yes.... mods-o-plenty!!

The first thing is the iPod interface for the NAV, then a lift as soon as I decide between spacers or full coil overs...and of course then I need new shoes....oh... can't forget tint..... when does it end!!
