Hey is This a Good Price for a Used 5th Gen 4Runner?

Hey folks. All I've had are 3rd gens, looking to move up without going full retail. Want 4WD, leather, and sunroof. Found a dark grey 2012 Limited with 37K miles, asking $32K. One owner, garaged, never wheeled or towed anything....

Fair price? Seems in line with KBB.

At the end of 2015 I paid $28k out the door for a CPO 2011 trail with KDSS and 34,000 miles.

It sounds like an alright price....for the heck of it I may price out a new '17 limited for comparison. My brother just picked one up for around 40k.....is a warranty and 0 miles worth the extra dough??, to me it would be, to others maybe not. If you decide to take a run at the '12, try him at 30.

It was 7 months ago, but I paid $37,000 for a new 2016 Trail Premium. The Toyota dealers in Phoenix are currently selling new 2017 SR5s for around $34,000-$35,000 so $32,000 for a 5 year old 4R seems steep to me...

You can't compare a used Limited to a new SR5. Of course the prices will be closer.

I wanted to give the OP some perspective. If some of the creature comforts aren't a must, it may make more sense to go brand new with warranty.

I paid $26k for a 2012 Limited with 60k miles at the end of January 2017. The dealer originally priced it at $31k and it sat on their lot for 2-3 months before they dropped the price.

No third row seating or other options on mine.

Yeah I'm not hard over on a Limited but 4WD, leather, and sunroof are minimum. I really don't give a flip about the backup cam and nav.

Man that's cheap. $37K for a new TP? I paid $40K and I waited over 6 months for one to hit the So.Cal dealers.

Anyways, OP good luck with your find. IMO, 5th Gen Limited is, well.. gross looking in my eyes. I cant get over that chrome bar. It reminds me of a hot girl with a giant metal retainer. BUT to each their own. Either way 4Rs are bad ass!!! Some just look better than others =)

I'm with you on the looks but the wife has vetoed a low mileage (under 100K) 4th gen. I even passed up an UrbanRunner!

lol - Wives, they always throw a wrench into the plans. By all means, the Limited is a great car. Full-time 4wd with all the bells and whistles of a luxury car. I had a 2015 TLX that I traded in for my 4R TP and it took sometime to get use to pulling the key out of my pocket to get in the car =). But after the trail and the smile it brought to my face, no regrets. I say show you wife the soft-tec seat.

The chrome is easily remedied with wrap or plasti-dip. My front end is all black!

The blue 2012 Limited has this setup on the front, I believe for when it's being towed...

What's involved in prepping a 4WD T4R for being towed?

Above hardware is not a towing kit, it's for attaching a rack for fishing poles.

Looks like it's gonna be in my driveway by this time tomorrow.


Now to sell the 3rd gen Sport...
