2000 sportrunner

hey everyone , first time poster here on the site as I have been lurking around here for a while and been searching through the forums. a little back story: bought my 2000 sport 5spd about a year and a half ago and have loved every minute of it.tuned it up and did timing belt, installed the toytec ultimate/sonoran steel hybrid lift right after I bought it ( sonoran track bar, bump stops, sway bar brackets) and put it on 17x9 method standard wheels with 285/70/17 duratrac.
then I found a good 4.30 e locker rear end, 4.30 front end and snagged all the electronics and wired it up like factory, also installed a true trac in the front at the same time. then I found a good used trd charger kit on craigslist and ordered the 7th injector kit as well . ill post some pictures as soon as I figure out how.
anyway my questions are regarding to the exhaust, currently I have the urd 02 simulator for the rear and am running no converters, 2.5" all the way through a flowmaster 50 series suv muffler. it is quiet at an idle, manageable on the freeway , but obnoxious at moderate loads going up hills in town and stupid loud when full throttle. hence I have wanted to change the exhaust for some time now.
my muffler choice is come down to the dynomax super turbo, and add a couple of their race bullets in for resonators for a high flow relatively quiet system. my question is what size piping should I go with? I love that the 3" version of the super turbo is a bigger case size and should ultimately flow better than the 2.5" version, but I feel like 3" pipe will be far to much for the engine to handle especially at low rpms , but what if I went with like 2.75" piping with the 3" muffler? or would should I just stay with the 2.5" piping and just change the mufflers? happy to have this wealth of knowledge of a site for the 4runners and able to be a part of it. tj.
