HID install

I'm looking at buying a set of hellas with an hid conversion already done. It doesn't come with a wiring harness but it does have the ballasts. It would be nice to have them come on when my low beams are switched on but I'm not above just putting a switch inside the cab.

What do I need to make either set up happen? If I need to provide more info let me know.

U bougt some already? I have a pair of hella 700ff converted with ddm h3s. All u need is a pair or ballasts. Otherwise its just power and ground to the ballast. Asking 50 plus shipping for the pair

Do not wire your spot/flood offroad lights to your LOW BEAMS especially with HIDs converted in them. You will blind everyone on the road. They are not the same light pattern as your headlight housings. If anything, wire them to come on with your high beams.

If that's the case then I probably don't want them if low beam HIDS cant be turned on with OE low beam headlights.

Well it's not so much the HIDs part, it's the housings. Regular halogen Hellas (500, 700, etc etc) are meant for "offroad use" only. So then think about it with HIDs. If you do use them on the street make sure no one is around. They're also better on their own switch. It's not good to hook them up to headlights mainly because of the switching backing and forth to low and high beam.

I actually have my PIAA wired in place of my high beams. The HID in the stock housings (yeah yeah yeah) killed my high beam ability, so in came the PIAA option. There is no way you could drive around other traffic with those on. Wiring stuff like that is pretty easy though. Just figure out what exactly you are going to do and post again.

I guess HIDS aren't what I'm looking for. I only want lights that will work with my low beams so fog lights are probably what I need.

Are you trying to illuminate the foreground directly in front of the truck with low beams on or aim them in the same area as your low beams? This will determine what type of beam pattern you're looking for...

You would just need a hid relay kit. They are less than $10. Then you would splice it into whichever source you want them to come on with (parking//low/fog/high) if you don't want to run switch.
