HID Kit

alright sweet. thanks man. exactly what i needed to know.
on a side note, how old are you? just tryin to see if we have a younger group of ppl on here too.
 
giebenstein: thats all the info u need to order and ya mine was 50 plus shipping. Mine came with double sided sticky tape and that worked pretty well but i also shoved it in a tight spot so that it wouldnt move. U could just make ur own brackets if u wanted to once u got them.

inshore4runner: ya dude so did u figure out wat color bulb ur gonna get? well im 21 but most of the guys on here are all diff ages from 16-50 i think maybe some older but most around 18-35 i think.
 
Hopefully these HID's are decent..today i ordered a set of the 4300k vvme units, slimline bi-xenon.. I'm crossing my fingers that the cutoff will be decent and they won't blind the oncoming traffic.

hmmm you just got me interested in these they're fricken cheap! now my question im looking on the website and it asks if i want the HID harness and an error eliminator did you get those? and are you running your DRL with these?

edit: nevermind i didn't see the second page sorry!
 
Does anyone have a tutorial for installing these DDM kits? I'm a proud new owner of a 2000 4Runner and am eager to start up with mods!
 
not to sure what color im gonna get. im really leaning towards getting some REALLLY blue ones, cause thats what my buddy is gonna get and i like the way it looks. plus i know i could sell it to another one of my buddys if i decide i dont like them. i might go liny's route and get 12000k, his look good.(even though i know all yall are fans of the pure white, i like the blue)

Would any of your buddys want a 55W/8000K DDM slim ballast kit? Wouldn't mind selling mine...
 
lol its kool dude... ya im nvr sure on how old these guys are on here til i see them on facebook. haha

Ya u can go with blueish color if thats wat u prefer but just remember that it wont be as bright... thats y most ppl dont get them bc the light output is still better then stock but not as bright as it could be. I say if u like the blue then screw wat others think bc ull be happy with it! :D

skydivingdude: yea i know wat ya mean. i might go with the 10000k and let my buddy get the 12's.. idk though. ill definately post pics when i get em thogh
 
Hello,

I am the proud new owner of the DDM HID lighting kit. After looking around in the engine compartment, I am wondering where some of you guys put the ballasts.
And did any of you have to take out the battery and air filter box to install the ballasts?

Not sure I really like the idea of using double sided sticky tape. It just doesn't seem like a solid solution for long term use.

Any pictures would be appreciated.

YA that double sided sticky tape didnt even hold a full day for me so i have the left one just laying in between the fender wall and the battery and the one on the right is tucked between the windshield wiper fluid nozzle and the air filter.... though it doesnt seem to be the best place to put them they are in somewhat tight areas and well it has sufficed for a few months now until i find a permanent solution.
 
I zip-tied them down to whatever was handy and solid. Pretty sure I removed battery and airbox to install.

Thanks for the help fellows. Now I have a better idea how to proceed with the install of the ballasts. Seems like I might bolt-on/zip-tie the brackets.

I thought it was a little tight in the engine not to remove a couple of things to install the brackets. Just didn't see that step in the instructions and wanted to make sure before proceeding with the installation.
