HID Lights behind grill

Hello everyone,
So, my 4” HID lights were stolen right before christmas (Merry Christmas to me) and now Im thinking to install those behind bumper oem grill. I was thinking to cut plastic around lights or leave it like that.
Any body have this kind of set up?
Thank you in advance.

Wow that bites. What area are you in? I believe harper has that set up behind/cut out in his lower grill. Take a look at his build thread.

I feel ya man although I can't help you with the lights, my house got robbed on Christmas eve, I hate dirt bags, I was finally about to pull the trigger on a gobi roof rack too but thats now put on hold for who knows how long. But good luck and don't let them get ya down.

I was thinking the same thing and wonder how much light the grill would actually block if I don't cut it. Thinking of an LED bar light inside the lower grill.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. All mods have been put on hold for a while tho, wedding planning.

Oh wow, that's too bad! I'm sorry.

. . . Does it reflect grill on the road?

The grill must block some of the light but it's such a small percentage that I detect no difference between the illumination from the behind-the-grill lamps on the 4Runner and the naked PIAA 60XT's on my Cummins-Ram.

How did you attach the bracket for the lights? I looked at the aluminum hollow front bumper and not sure how to bolt anything to it. Did you drill and Tap it or drill through and use long bolts?

No bolts here. Three-sixteenths blind ("Pop") rivets hold the easily-made aluminum bracket to the hollow aluminum bumper.
