HID's installed

oh geez i know this might get heated, but its for information for all.
so I got my HID kit from XenonDepot its 5000k h4 bi-xenon and its amazing. Steve is great to work with from there and its a fantastic product. I work for the city police department and i got opinions from some of my co-workers and we came to the conclusion that its not obnoxious glare. but all that aside it adds amazing light and it looks good. ill post some night pics soon.

yeah its a crystal white light its nice. the install was super easy all of it was plug and play. the hardest part was removing the battery and air box to install the lights, ballast, etc. no drilling required. and the light is really nice. I didn't install the lights for looks but for functionality (i do a ton of night driving and driving in snow to get to the mountains to board. haha.) = )
 
That's cool. I'm debating buying them. I'd probably just buy the "Volt" line. It's hard to justify the purchase when I already have the Silverstars. Did you have aftermarket lights before you got HIDs?
 
haha oh yeah i had texons, silverstar (regular and ultras) and the factory ones and nothing compares to the light output of HID's. now i want to get the 300k HID fogs soon.
 
for some reason i can't see a cop driving a 4runner? maybe its just me but they all have big trucks like rams and silverados in my area.

anyways those lights do look really really good. i think HIDs are the only really true answer for people wanting the "bluish" look w/o loosing alot of light output.
 
So which temperature is the purest white? I've heard 4300 is closest to factory, you say 5000 is diamond white, and rollingthunder says his 6000 are white.
 
yeah i dont know what to say i guess the only way to truely tell it has to be in person pictures really dont do any justice.
 
these dont do much justice and i also have a crap lousy camera too but heres some night shots. it looks blue but its an insane crystal white, so pure.

im one of those cops that loves his 4Runner... Someday ill give the 4Runner to my significant other or my lil' bro, and then get another 4Runner or Tundra! haha
 
nothing wrong with our police officers driving 'runners, the more the merrier. :bigok:

it would be pretty cool to get pulled over and when i ask why it was just to talk about our trucks :D
 
The pictures look good. It probably didn't help that it was raining.

If I were you I would focus the lights in on the side of your house or garage or something, maybe the road even, and then take a picture of that instead of just the light housing.

How long do HIDs take to warm up?

I will do that to get some comparison shots for you all that is of course when the rain stops.

and the lights take just a couple of minutes if that to warm up.
 
bi-xenon is a true hi-lo beam HID system. some h4 kits have HID low beams and Halogen Hi. but this works by an actuator that adjusts the light to a high beam pattern. ha thats the best i can explain it.
 
not too difficult to wire i have bi-xenons,

but they are wired in a series if i am not mistaken, and only one headlight plug is used, i thinkkkk

and he is right, it uses a magnet or actuator to turn the bulb into a high beam.

i love mine!
